The General Meeting, held on 28 September, chose a new Management Committee to oversee the affairs of the Association for the next three years. The Management Committee elected Mr Jones Zimba (Commissioner, Malawi Revenue Authority) as its Chairman, and Mr Douglas Rankin (United Kingdom) as Vice Chairman. The Conference which followed was attended by over 100 delegates from 24 countries, and international organisations such as the IMF and GTZ. At its conclusion on 2 October, delegates were agreed that the technical presentations and debate had been of a very high quality. The Malawi Revenue Authority, under Commissioner General Mr Lloyd Muhara, is to be congratulated on the excellence of all aspects of the planning and organisation of both events. Sincere thanks are also due to the individual members of the team for the many kindnesses extended to delegates during their stay in Lilongwe.
