27th Annual Technical Conference & 10th General Meeting, 13 - 18 August 2006, Port Louis, Mauritius
The General Meeting, held on 13 August, chose a new Management Committee to oversee the affairs of the Association for the next three years. The Management Committee elected Mr Mustapha Mosafeer (Director, Large Taxpayers Department, Mauritius Revenue Authority) as its Chairman, and Mr John McGinley (United Kingdom) as Vice Chairman. Mrs Sabina Walcott-Denny (Commissioner of Inland Revenue, Barbados) was elected as the new President of CATA. Click here for full details of the new structure The Conference which followed from 14 to 18 August was attended by a record number of 113 delegates representing 29 member countries, special guests from China, Japan, Thailand and Zanzibar and representatives of GTZ and SADC. At its conclusion delegates were agreed that the technical presentations had been of a very high quality and had provided exceptionally useful information for participants. Mauritius Revenue Authority is to be congratulated on the excellence of all aspects of the planning and organisation of both events.
