2011 Conference, Colombo, Sri Lanka

The 32nd Annual Technical Conference was held at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo, the warm capital of Sri Lanka, from the 18th to the 23rd September 2011. It was opened by Dr. P.B. Jayasundara, Secretary, Ministry of Finance & Planning and  Ministry of Economic Development, Sri Lanka (video of the opening ceremony below). The two theme topics for this year, Transfer Pricing and Taxpayer Education as a Compliance Tool proved to be very popular among participants. With presentations from various Member States together with others from international organisations such as the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Inter American Centre for Tax Administrations (CIAT) and the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), the discussions proved to be as intense as they were diverse. The conference host, the Department of Inland Revenue under the leadership of the Commissioner General Mr K. M. S. Kandegedara made the conference especially interesting with incredible social events during some evenings. CATA wishes to extend its profound gratitude to the people of Sri Lanka for the warm hospitality they extended to participants during the Conference. Ayubowan !!!
