Mauritius: The MRA launched its 5th Organizational Integrity Perception Survey

Integrity is the cornerstone of a good tax administration and since its inception in 2006; the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) has placed ethics and integrity on the highest agenda of its tax administration operation. This is in line with its vision to be a world class Revenue Authority respected for its professionalism, efficiency, fairness, integrity and its contribution to our economic and social development.

The MRA efforts in the field of integrity management can therefore be seen as long lasting. It has continually pursued with series of administrative reforms in its endeavor to modernize its operating systems and processes by leveraging on digital technology.

In its pursuit of excellence, MRA recently embarks on its 5th Organizational Integrity Perception Survey. This survey is over and above the Taxpayer Satisfaction Survey conducted annually by the tax administration. The main objective of the Integrity Survey is to seek feedback from stakeholders dealing with MRA and eventually used it as a measure to ascertain the degree of integrity prevailing within the Authority. The survey will also serve as a means to take remedial actions in areas where low ratings are observed in some of the integrity parameters.

To ensure an impartial and objective assessment, the MRA has engaged the services of an independent private firm to conduct the survey. It needs to be mentioned that during the last survey results released in 2021, the Organizational Integrity Index stood at 76.3 in 2021.
