Background:
Electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) has become a key component of modern tax administration, supporting improved compliance, real-time data access, and enhanced efficiency in tax systems. As jurisdictions across the Commonwealth continue to explore and implement e-invoicing frameworks, there is growing interest in understanding practical approaches, policy considerations, and implementation challenges.
This webinar forms part of CATA’s ongoing efforts to facilitate knowledge sharing and peer learning among member administrations on digital transformation initiatives.

This webinar will outline the UK’s journey on e-invoicing to date, focusing on its role in broader tax system modernisation. The session will explore:

Presenter/Speaker:
Ms Lily Duane, Policy Lead for Electronic Invoicing, HMRC, United Kingdom
Ms Duane leads policy development on e-invoicing in the UK, working closely with international partners, UK businesses, and industry stakeholders. She plays a key role in distilling lessons from global implementations and adapting them to the UK context. As Chair of the UK’s Technical Development Working Group, she ensures that business requirements remain central to the design of the UK’s e-invoicing regime.
