ree

From 13th to 15th January a delegation comprising officials from the Zambia Revenue Authority were at the seat of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) for a benchmarking visit. The MRA is amongst one of the African Tax Administrations which have operationalized Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) and the in-person visit was an opportunity for the delegates to learn from the Mauritian experience to gain first-hand knowledge on our good practices, operational frameworks and technological innovations.

During the 3-day working programme, the sessions were led by MRA’s team from the Information Systems Department and the International Taxation Unit of the Large Taxpayers Department through a combination of technical presentations and practical demonstrations and the topics covered, inter-alia, MRA’s EOI system, OECD data confidentiality, server infrastructure, incidence management & IT security, AEOI data analytics by the MRA and Financial Institutions Sensitization & Enlightenment.

The delegates also engaged in detailed discussions with the MRA officials on how we navigated the challenges posed by the implementation of AEOI.
