CATA is pleased to announce that the Working Group on Cybersecurity has held its inaugural meeting today, marking a key milestone in advancing CATA’s strategic priority on cybersecurity and fraud resilience.

Although the elected Chair, Mr Ravi Sankar of Barbados, was unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, CATA Executive Director, Dr Esther A.P. Koisin, stepped in to facilitate the meeting. During the session, Mr Ismaila Jawara of The Gambia was elected as Vice Chair, and members had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share initial perspectives.
With this meeting, all attendees—and those who had previously expressed interest—are now formally recognised as members of the Working Group. The confirmed membership includes representatives from:
Barbados (Chair)
Gambia (Vice Chair)
Bahamas
Brunei Darussalam
Gibraltar
India
Malaysia
Maldives
Mauritius
Nigeria
Saint Lucia
Singapore
United Kingdom
The Working Group will focus on identifying shared cybersecurity threats, exploring collaborative opportunities, and assessing capacity building needs across member jurisdictions. This collaborative effort aims to strengthen digital resilience and foster a secure environment for tax administrations throughout the Commonwealth.
CATA looks forward to the impactful contributions of this group in shaping a robust cybersecurity framework for its members.
