Closing Ceremony of the 45th CATA Annual Heads Meeting and Technical Conference at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – 10 July 2025

The 45th Annual Heads Meeting and Technical Conference of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA) closed with actionable recommendations from Rapporteurs and an inspiring address from CATA’s president on collaborating for a resilient tax future.


After an intensive week of discussion both at the technical and leadership level, participants are returning to their tax administrations with new knowledge, connections and inspiration sparked by the sharing of experiences.




Dr Abu Tariq Jamaluddin, CEO, Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia and CATA President, brought discussions to a close by highlighting the many opportunities for CATA’s members and partners to collaborate to build a more resilient tax future.






Ending the Conference, Mr Yusuph Juma Wenda, Commissioner General, Tanzania Revenue Authority, extended a warm invitation to the 46th Annual Heads Meeting and Technical Conference, to be held next year in Tanzania.


In the interim, CATA will be working to action the insightful recommendations which came from the Heads and Delegates, ensuring the work programme reflects the needs and ambitions of its diverse membership.
