On 15 January 2026, Fiji signed the Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters (MAAC) in Paris, becoming the 152nd jurisdiction to join. The MAAC is the world’s most comprehensive instrument for tax cooperation, enabling exchange of information, joint examinations, and assistance in tax recovery.

This milestone underscores Fiji’s commitment to international tax transparency, cooperation, and fairness. It also represents a decisive step toward Fiji’s removal from the EU blacklist and supports the implementation of the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information (AEOI).

FRCS will continue working closely with the Global Forum and international partners to ensure successful implementation of global tax standards, strengthen compliance and enhance Fiji’s economic resilience.
