HMRC conducted a comprehensive workshop at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on “Developing Reporting Financial Institutions (RFIs) Compliance Framework” from 10th to 14th November 2025 under the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The workshop aimed to strengthen FBR’s institutional capacity in implementing international tax transparency standards, particularly those related to RFIs’ due diligence, reporting obligations, and compliance monitoring mechanisms.

Throughout the five‑day engagement, HMRC experts shared best practices, practical tools, and case‑based methodologies to support the development of a robust compliance framework aligned with global requirements. The sessions also facilitated interactive discussions on current challenges faced by RFIs, risk‑based supervision strategies, and the enhancement of data quality for effective information exchange.

This collaborative initiative reflects the continued commitment between HMRC and FBR to promote transparency, improve tax compliance, and advance mutual cooperation under the MoU.
