Leadership Transition at CATA

We extend our heartfelt gratitude and deepest appreciation to Mr. M. Sudhamo Lal, G.O.S.K, C.S.K, who recently retired as Director General of the Mauritius Revenue Authority, for his distinguished service and exemplary leadership as Chairman of CATA. A highly respected figure in the tax administration community, Mr. Lal brought with him a wealth of experience, wisdom, and integrity that greatly enriched our organisation. His tenure was marked by a strong commitment to collaboration, innovation, and capacity building across the Commonwealth. We are sincerely grateful for his invaluable contributions and enduring legacy.

Mr Noor Mahmad OOZEER

We are pleased to welcome Mr Noor Mahmad OOZEER, Acting Director General of the Mauritius Revenue Authority, as Chairman of CATA with effect from 15 May 2025. With over 45 years of experience in tax and revenue administration, Mr. Oozeer brings a deep understanding of the field and a strong track record of leadership. Since joining the Income Tax Department in 1979, he has served in various capacities and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Mauritius Revenue Authority in 2006. We are confident that Mr. Oozeer’s leadership will uphold the high standards set by his predecessor and continue to strengthen CATA’s mission of promoting excellence in tax administration across our membership.
