“Sri Lanka Inland Revenue Department Strengthens Capacity, Leadership, and Institutional Collaboration”

Capacity Building Programme: In collaboration with HMRC, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has conducted a five-day intensive workshop on Transfer Pricing. This programme focuses on equipping IRD personnel with advanced audit methodologies and procedures regarding Advance Pricing Agreements.


Executive Leadership Workshop: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently facilitated a leadership workshop in Colombo for Inland Revenue Department Commissioners and senior management. This initiative aligns with the IRD’s five-year strategic plan, which establishes a sequenced reform pathway designed to strengthen revenue performance, foster voluntary compliance, and enhance taxpayer trust.


Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an integrated framework: The Inland Revenue Department and Sri Lanka Customs Department have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an integrated framework for joint investigations and collaborative data analytics. This strategic partnership is designed to enhance institutional synergy, curb tax evasion, and optimize the mobilization of government revenue
