Dear Members,
As we approach the end of 2025, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all of you for your steadfast support and commitment to CATA throughout the year. Your engagement and collaboration have been the driving force behind our shared success.
Since taking up the role of Chairman in July, when I became Director General of the Mauritius Revenue Authority, I have been truly honoured and delighted to be associated with such a dynamic and flourishing organisation. The strength of our network and the spirit of cooperation among members have been inspiring.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Management Committee, whose collective leadership and guidance have been pivotal in steering the governance and strategic direction of CATA. Working alongside such dedicated colleagues has been a privilege.
A special acknowledgment goes to our Executive Director and the Secretariat for their tireless efforts in making CATA more visible and vibrant—through strong engagement with members, international and regional organisations, and by delivering a robust work programme. Their leadership in positioning CATA as a key voice within the NTO Council has been exemplary. We also deeply appreciate the strong support from HMRC, which has contributed resources to enable the Secretariat to deliver its work effectively.
Above all, I want to thank our Commissioners, the heads of member tax organisations, for their unwavering support and active involvement. Your leadership ensures participation in CATA programmes and drives the success of our initiatives. The continued engagement through Commissioners Connect, launched in July 2024, has been a testament to this commitment. This year, we held quarterly virtual meetings and an in-person engagement in Kuala Lumpur, back-to-back with the Management Committee meeting—strengthening dialogue and reinforcing our shared vision.
In 2025, we have accomplished much together. Our capacity-building programmes were delivered with excellence, strengthening the skills and knowledge of our members. The close cooperation among members has been a hallmark of our progress, enabling us to address emerging challenges collectively and effectively.
I also wish to recognise the Regional Directors and Country Correspondents, who have played an increasingly active role in CATA’s work. Through the Regional Directors and Country Correspondents meetings, they have driven regional-led knowledge sharing among peers, an initiative that is deeply appreciated and has enriched collaboration across our network.
Equally, I commend the Chairs and Vice Chairs of our Working Groups—AEOI, E-Invoicing, Crypto Currencies and Digital Assets, and our newest addition, the Cyber Security Working Group. Your leadership has been instrumental in advancing critical initiatives.
Finally, I extend heartfelt thanks to all our partner organisations for their collaboration and support. Your engagement has amplified our efforts and strengthened CATA’s role in the global tax community.
As we celebrate these achievements, let us take pride in what we have accomplished together. On behalf of CATA, I wish you and your families a joyful and peaceful holiday season.
Thank you for being an integral part of CATA’s journey.
Best wishes,
Mr Rohit Ramnawaz
CATA Chairman
Director General of Mauritius Revenue Authority
