CATA Successfully Convenes Bi-Annual Management Committee Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Hosted by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia | 9 December 2025

The Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA) convened its Bi-Annual Management Committee Meeting on 9 December 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, graciously hosted by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia. The meeting brought together Heads of Tax Administrations and senior tax officials to review progress, consider strategic priorities, and plan ahead for 2026.

Key agenda items included updates on the 2025–2026 Work Programme, engagement with partner and regional organisations, a review of the revised Delegate Sponsorship Policy, and preparations for the 2026 Annual Heads Meeting in Tanzania, alongside discussions on future hosting arrangements.

A notable highlight was the consideration of a pilot audiovisual studio project proposed by Mauritius, aimed at supporting member administrations in developing tax education content to strengthen taxpayer engagement.

The meeting concluded with closing remarks and a dinner hosted by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia, providing an opportunity for informal networking and exchange. The discussions reinforced CATA’s continued commitment to strategic leadership, innovation, and cooperation across its membership.
